International Students at German Universities 2019

 

Universities in Germany hosted almost 400,000 international students in 2019, following growth from several top source countries, according to the latest data released by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The 394,665 international students represented an increased of 5.3 per cent and an additional 20,000 students compared with the previous year, as detailed in DAAD’s Wissenschaft Weltoffen 2020 Kompakt report.

International students accounted for 13.8 per cent of all students at universities last year, DAAD said, a rise compared with 13.2 per cent in 2018.
